Split Half - Deposit

This is a $100 deposit on a purchase of a split half beef.  After the processing is completed, we will create an invoice for the whole amount which is due at the time of delivery.

We grow organic 100% grass finished beef.

Our farm has been in the family since 1910 and we have had cattle walking on our pastures and eating our grass.  My family have been the stewards of our land and our grass for over 100 years.  This is our passion!

And we want to share our passion with you.

We believe that grass finished beef is an amazing food and an amazing tool that is the only solution for solving climate change and desertification.  We have had scientists and filmmakers on our land looking and exploring what we do.

We love grass and we love grass finished beef.

Hoven Farm sells a whole beef, half beef, a split half (quarter) and a 40lb case of ground beef.

What is a split half beef?  A split half beef is half the meat in a side of beef, cut, wrapped, froze and delivered to Calgary, Edmonton and Red Deer.  How much meat ends up in your freezer depends on the how big the carcass was.  You will end up with about 65% of the carcass weight as meat in your freezer.  If you want bones with your order, you will receive more weight!  On a usual split half, you will receive about 80-100 lb of beef in your freezer.

Roasts
Cross Rib – 3lb
Sirloin Tip – 3lb
Rump – 3lb
Chuck – 3 lb

Steaks
Tenderloin – 2 steaks per pack
New York Strip – 2 steaks per pack
Boneless Sirloin – 2 steaks per pack
Ribeye – 2 steaks per pack
Round – 2 steaks per pack

Stew Meat
Short Ribs
Soup Bones
Heart, Liver,Tongue
Ground Beef in 1 lb vacuum sealed packs
Stir Fry Beef – 5 lbs in 1 lb packs

Minimum 10 lb batch. Each item below has additional costs that will added to your invoice.

Costs:  Hoven Farms charges $4.54/lb on the carcass plus the processing charges for the cutting, wrapping and freezing.  The processing charges will be approximately $1.20/lb plus any additional processing charges.  These charges will be added to your invoice. This will make a split half cost approximately $700-900 depending on the size of the carcass..
